When you hear someone talk about a small and intimate wedding, you usually think 20-30 people, right? Well, how about 9 (and that’s including the bride and groom!)?! Chandra & Murray’s wedding was just that: small, intimate and very special.
Murray’s mother officiated while each guest read a portion of a poem while surrounding them in a semi-circle. The bride and groom’s hands were tied together with a sash, wine was shared between them and candles were burned. It was a very peaceful and humble ceremony which perfectly describes Chandra and Murray’s personalities.
Actually, there were 10 guests in attendance: Chandra’s gorgeous baby bump! She was proud to show it off, and I love that she has mehndi on her belly. Also, isn’t her sari just incredible?!
After the ceremony, we headed down to Jericho Beach for a few portraits. It had rained a bit earlier in the day and the sky was still clearing up, but it was just brilliant in combination with the sunset.
The light was just jaw-dropping against her sari and her bangles. They caught every ray of light.
This is the look of love. Gentle, passionate and true.
Congratulations and thank you so much for letting us capture your day! It was an amazing evening and we wish you nothing but happiness for the future!
Folks, meet Chris and Katie. They just recently got engaged and I was lucky enough to shoot them. Seriously, it was so much fun! We visited a bunch of awesome locations, and they were such good sports for letting me lead them all over. Anyway, less ‘blah’ and more “YEAHH!!!”
Here are the photos:
Thanks Chris and Katie for an awesome evening! It was a lot of fun photographing you
Will & Lindsay are simply adorable. They have such an emotional connection between them that it’s easy to see that they really are best friends – and now husband and wife
We all had an amazing day photographing their wedding at the beautiful Rockwater Resort on the Sunshine Coast. The views were incredible and the day couldn’t have been more perfect: a bright, sunny day with incredible blue skies.
There were a lot of special little moments throughout this day: from her mom applying her make-up, to her dad walking her through the treetops and then down the aisle (a good kilometre long!), and to the heartfelt speaches. But what we found the most special was the fact that these two are each other’s rock. Whether it was a nervous moment in the ceremony or the sentimental words from family and friends, Will & Lindsey easily found comfort in each other. Quick glances and long gazes turned their tears into smiles and gentle laughs.
Here are some favourites of ours. Enjoy
Will & Lindsey, we had an great day with you and we wish you many, many years of happiness
Holy Cannoli! Another wedding to tease you with!!
Yep, But don’t worry… We’ve got a full blog post of a wedding to show you shortly. Yay! I’ve got many words stored up for their full post, but until then take a look at this image from Allison and Cam’s awesome day.
Hi all
Last night we shot an amazing little intimate wedding (8 guests!) and I just wanted to share one of the images. I’ll have a full blog post up soon, but for now I’m going to leave you with this:
A few weeks back I was very fortunate to help out Kristel Wyman with Ben & Esther’s wedding. Upon meeting them I instantly felt like family because they are so warm-hearted and caring (and later on Esther and I realized that we went to the same high school together too. Small world!). We all had a wonderful time doing portraits downtown and then out to Langley for their beautiful ceremony and reception. Here are a few of my favourite shots
Esther is so beautiful. Ben: you are a very lucky man.
And Ben isn’t too bad either
This is very GQ!
And when you put them together: WOW!
I loved their ceremony! They walked up the aisle together with their son behind them in a little red wagon (complete with a sign that said “Mommy and Daddy are getting married”!). Their eye-contact with each other during the ceremony was constant and honest. Everyone that was there that day radiated such a sincere warmth which really told us something about Ben & Esther: not only are they truly and deeply in love with each other, but they have a fantastic group of family and friends.
Later in the evening Kristel and I set up a photobooth for them and their guests to enjoy, and let me tell you, we had a blast! With a handful of random props (funny glasses, bunny ears, masquerade masks and even a garden gnome!) you may never know what people will do, but you can almost guarantee that they wont forget it! There were sooooo many hilarious photos from their photobooth to choose from, so I decided to just put up my absolute favourite one. Here is Esther’s family photo!
Huge thank yous go out to Kristel, and also to Ben & Esther! I had a fabulous time!
