A few weeks back we met up downtown and started out at the infamous “Gold door.” What’s that you say? You have NO IDEA what I’m talking about? Well here, lemme show you

From there we walked over to Gastown and took advantage of some of the nice textures. I think Gastown is a funny name. There’s not a single gas station there or anything!!

Off now to another town, this time of the Yale variety! I love shooting at the roundhouse. It’s got some cool lines and there’s so much history behind the building (I LOVE Vancouver History). There’s also a spot where, if you stand there and talk all the echoes bounce right back to you and it sounds really cool.

Early last month we went downtown to meet up with Elizabeth and Mike for their engagement session.  We started in Coal Harbour, near the spot that Mike proposed to Elizabeth. We were having a grand ol’ time until the rain decided to become a little too much. We regrouped the following weekend to continue the session for part 2 in Yaletown. The weather was super duper that day!

This was taken on the steps of the law society. Not sure what they have against sitting on the steps, but neener neener, they did it anyway!

I’m so glad we decided to reschedule our first session because the weather was fabulous the second time around!  Elizabeth and Mike are super awesome, cute and funny and we absolutely can not wait to be a part of their wedding this August!

Our latest E-Session we’d like to tell you about is that of Ali and Simon. We had a lot of fun on this cold winter day (back when winter = cold in this town.) One thing we LOVE is fun. But really, who DOESN’T love fun? I mean, you’d have to be weird not love having fun, right?

We met up with this cute couple at Jean Beaty park in Point Grey. Simon proposed to Ali in this park, so it was a great place to start.

We then moved on to downtown Vancouver and shot a bit around Robson Square. They had started setting up the new zipline for the Olympics, so there were a lot of blue fences up. We still got a lot of great shots in, though.

There’s a red coil-shaped sculpture in Robson Square, and Ali and Simon wanted to do a few fun shots in there. Remember what I said earlier about loving fun stuff? Well, of course we were game

One thing that they had mentioned to us when we first met with them was that they loved the use of off-camera lighting. We shot their engagement session an hour before sunset, so we got to do a lot of off-camera lighting.

Ohhhhhh Caaaaa NaaDaaaaaa!! The Hotel Georgia is under major renovations and right now the entire building is covered in a huge Canadian flag. We decided that it was a great backdrop to use, so here ya go

Lastly, I’ll leave you with this. They wanted to have some fun with jumping shots, so we took a few shots and they turned out excellent So… I guess the theme for this shoot was… fun? ;D
