Women’s Curling at the Olympics!
Here we are with another Olympic event! ![]()
On Friday, Deb and I took in our first curling match. It was quite a lot of fun. I think the person who made the decision to have spectators at Curling matches must have had ADD. They have 4 games going at once, and this is perfect for when the game you really came to see is having a boring end. We came specifically to see Canada beat Denmark, and at times there were some boring ends, so we turned our attention to the other games going on and they seemed to have some action going on. The Japan/Great Britain game ended with Japan winning 11-4 after Japan got 5 points in the 9th end to seal the deal. That was cool to see.
Canada’s game, on the other hand, was much tighter. In fact, after 10 ends it was tied up at 4-4. So off to an extra end we went. It was extremely close, but in the end Canada place a stone right on the button to take a point and end the game 5-4. Crowd = wild. Then they announced that Canada won a gold in Men’s Skeleton. Crowd = very wild. It was awesome.
Enough words! PHOTOS… GO!!!!

The sign for the Vancouver Olympic Centre

The 4 sheets of the Vancouver Olympic Centre. Canada’s on Sheet A which is to our far right.

The motto for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Also, if you’re not aware, this is a line in our national anthem.

HARRRRD!!!!
Our Canadian women working hard.

The reflection off the lights. Obviously these lights were turned off ![]()

The game between Japan and Great Britain. See all those yellow stones? all of them scored. That made the game impossible for Great Britain to win, so they conceded after 9.

I LOVE the design of our… designs? ummm… ya ![]()

Canada had the hammer in the overtime end, and this it.

We Win!! Right on the button! GO TEAM CANADA!!!

Hey guys, thanks for sharing these great photographs. It really gives me a new perspective on the games seeing images captured from the spectators point of view. Although did you really have to show the Brits losing?
Great images, I wish I could check out the olympics in person someday.
Love the ‘reflections in the overhead lights’ shot. Great images!
You made curling look exciting. Nice job capturing the Olympic spirit.
