Warning: This might be a bit of a long post, but don’t think that will be a problem with anyone;)

We have known Allison & Cam for several years. Allison is Nick’s best friend Steve’s sister. Steve and his wife Lori (who are also photographers, opening Lori Currie Photography soon) were shooting with us that day and I think we all got some great shots. Their beautiful wedding took place on the Labour Day long weekend and what a crazy day it started out as. It was raining like mad up until about 5 minutes before the ceremony began and stayed dry just up to the time the reception started. It was perfect.

The instant that I saw Allison and her father start to walk down the aisle the tears started falling, not only for the guests, but for me as well! She was absolutely stunning; full of beauty and poise.

Cam is really quite the gentleman!

The great thing about Allison & Cam is that they know how to have a lot of fun, and so do their friends! They all know how to bring out their inner rock star!

One of my favourite shots! I think what I love more than the lighting is her “come hither” stare. Cam, you are a lucky guy!

Their reception site was the East Delta Hall, and Allison made it look like anything but! Not only is she super organized, but she is a design maven! She transformed the hall from a gymnasium into something spectacular. Green apples, candles, mini-lights everywhere, hanging paper lanterns….it was amazing!

Allison & Cam were together 10 years before they got married. A lot happens over the course of ten years of knowing someone and loving them. You grow so much as a couple and really develop a close and intimate relationship, and with these two it’s easy to see how much they complete each other.

Late in November we shot an engagement session with these two fine folks. It was cold and cloudy, but we all had a really great time out in English Bay and Stanley Park.  They kept each other laughing and smiling throughout the shoot, which by the way, are key ingredients to a happy marriage. Here are a few of our favourites. Enjoy:)

Since the forecast for this week calls for rain until Friday and into the weekend, I thought I would share one of my favourite summer photos. It was taken on the hottest day of the year on record in Vancouver (only to be beaten the next day!). I remember it well too. It was hot, sticky, humid and VERY sweaty! That evening I went up to Queen Elizabeth Park with the photo club that I’m in for a photowalk. When we reached the top, the fountain had at least one hundred people in it taking advantage of the cold water. These kids had the right idea! Enjoy

When you hear someone talk about a small and intimate wedding, you usually think 20-30 people, right? Well, how about 9 (and that’s including the bride and groom!)?! Chandra & Murray’s wedding was just that: small, intimate and very special.

Murray’s mother officiated while each guest read a portion of a poem while surrounding them in a semi-circle. The bride and groom’s hands were tied together with a sash, wine was shared between them and candles were burned. It was a very peaceful and humble ceremony which perfectly describes Chandra and Murray’s personalities.

Actually, there were 10 guests in attendance: Chandra’s gorgeous baby bump! She was proud to show it off, and I love that she has mehndi on her belly. Also, isn’t her sari just incredible?!

After the ceremony, we headed down to Jericho Beach for a few portraits. It had rained a bit earlier in the day and the sky was still clearing up, but it was just brilliant in combination with the sunset.

The light was just jaw-dropping against her sari and her bangles. They caught every ray of light.

This is the look of love. Gentle, passionate and true.

Congratulations and thank you so much for letting us capture your day! It was an amazing evening and we wish you nothing but happiness for the future!

Folks, meet Chris and Katie. They just recently got engaged and I was lucky enough to shoot them. Seriously, it was so much fun! We visited a bunch of awesome locations, and they were such good sports for letting me lead them all over. Anyway, less ‘blah’ and more “YEAHH!!!” Here are the photos:
